The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has managed to get a narrow win in the 2024 LS’ Elections. The exit polls also failed to expect the BJP’s downfall leading to a market crash to a 4-year low.
The election results were a shocker for the BJP witnessing the loss of Key candidates to the opposition. The Key candidates included Smriti Irani, Maneka Gandhi, etc.
BJP’s Key Candidates:
Smriti Irani (Amethi)
BJP’s Lok Sabha Candidate from Amethi, Smriti Irani is a star campaigner who was expected to win from the seat. She won this seat in the last Lok Sabha Elections and spent a lot of time on the ground campaigning. She worked for the development of the area and recently also bought a house signalling her connection with the constituency.
According to Election Commission data, while Congress candidate, Kishori Lal Sharma got 5,39,228 votes, Irani managed to get 3,72,032 votes. She managed to win this seat in 2019 with a margin of 55,120 votes.
In a message on X, Smriti Irani said, “To those who stood by me through loss and victory, I am forever grateful. To those celebrating today, congratulations.”
Such is life… A decade of my life going from one village to another, building lives, nurturing hope & aspirations, working on infrastructure ― roads, naali, khadanja, bypass, medical college and more.
To those who stood by me through loss and victory, I am forever grateful. To…

Initially, she led the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections as a Nationalist Congress Party candidate from Amravati. However, she failed to make it to the list of members of parliament.
