Today (Monday) at 7 am, the Fourth phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2024 has already started. In phase 4, polling will happen for 96 parliamentary constituencies across 10 states and union territories. This polling phase includes all 175 seats of the State Legislative Assembly of Andhra Pradesh and 28 seats of the State Legislative Assembly of Odissa.
All constituencies of Telangana will also vote in a single phase today (May 13). Other states and constituencies to go on polling today are Bihar (5), Jammu and Kashmir (Srinagar), Jharkhand (4) Madhya Pradesh (8), Maharashtra (11), Uttar Pradesh (13) and West Bengal (8).
1717 candidates from 19 states / Union Territories to contest elections in phase 4 of Lok Sabha Elections 2024. The average number of contesting candidates in a Parliamentary Constituency for 4th Phase is 18.
Over 19 lakh polling officials will welcome over 17.7 crore voters across 1.92 lakh polling stations. Over 17.79 crore voters including 8.97 crore Male and 8.73 crore Female voters.

The voter turnout till 11 am witnessed Jammu and Kashmir with the lowest turnout of 14.94 per cent. The highest turnout was witnessed in West Bengal of 32.78 per cent followed by Madhya Pradesh (32.38 per cent) and Jharkhand (27.40 per cent).
Key Constituencies and Candidates
Baharampur (West Bengal): Baharampur has seen a heated fight between the Congress, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Trinamool Congress. The fight is between TMC’s Yusuf Pathan, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury (West Bengal Congress President) and Nirmal Kumar Saha, BJP’s candidate. Congress will fight to secure and maintain its position in Baharampur.
Hyderabad (Telangana): With the nomination of Bharatiya Janata Party’s Madhavi Latha challenging AIMIM’s (All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen) MP Asaduddin Owaisi, Hyderabad has come in limelight. Madhavi Latha cast her vote today and said.“I want to appeal to my voter brother and sisters, that every vote you cast, will not just take Hyderabad and Telangana, but the whole nation forward.”

Krishnanagar (West Bengal): Trinamool Congress (TMC)’s Mahua Moitra will challenge BJP’s Amrita Roy. Mahua Moitra won in the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections. Mahua Moitra is currently expelled from Lok Sabha due to a breach of guidelines and rules for MPs.
Asansol (West Bengal): TMC’s Shatrughan Sinha is against BJP’s Surinderjeet Singh Ahluwalia. In Lok Sabha Elections 2019, Babul Supriyo in BJP won that seat. Later Shatrughan won the seat with 56.62 per cent votes after Supriyo joined TMC.
Kannauj (Uttar Pradesh): Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav is challenging current MP and BJP leader Subrat Pathak. Akhilesh Yadav will again be running from the same seat after resigning in 2012 to become chief minister.
