Former US President Donald Trump on Thursday was convicted by the Grand Jury in New York. The Jury found him guilty on 34 counts of falsifying business records related to a hush money payment.
Donald Trump’s Conviction
Trump was found guilty in the Hush Money trial of payment made to porn star Stormy Daniels by his then-personal lawyer Michael Cohen before the 2016 elections.
Trump is the first U.S. President to be convicted of any crime. He also has 3 other cases pending against him.
His sentencing for the Hush money trial was scheduled for July 11th at 10 a.m. ET by Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan. That is just days before the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, where the twice-impeached Trump is set to be formally confirmed as the GOP’s presidential nominee.
Trump, currently on bail, faces a maximum possible punishment of four years in prison for each count. He is expected to appeal against the verdict.
Hush Money Case
Trump was guilty of the case where he was guilty of falsifying business records that purported to describe legal expenses payments by him and the Trump Organization to Cohen to reimburse the former fixer for the $130,000 payment Cohen personally gave Daniels before the 2016 election.
Cohen and Daniels both testified that the money was paid to prevent her from selling her story to the media outlets about having sex with Trump one time in 2006, months after his wife Melania Trump gave birth to their son Barron Trump.
Cohen said Trump directed him to pay Daniels to prevent her from damaging his chance of winning the White House in 2016.
“Donald Trump has always mistakenly believed he would never face consequences for breaking the law for his gain. But today’s verdict does not change the fact that the American people face a simple reality. There is still only one way to keep Donald Trump out of the Oval Office: at the ballot box. Convicted felon or not, Trump will be the Republican nominee for president,” said Biden-Harris 2024 Communications Director Michael Tyler.
Supporters criticise the Judgement
“This was a disgrace. This was a rigged trial by a conflicted judge who was corrupt. It’s a rigged trial, a disgrace. They wouldn’t give us a venue change. We were at 5 per cent or 6 per cent in this district, in this area. This was a rigged, disgraceful trial”, said Trump shortly after the verdict was read.
Let me be FUCKING clear: I voted for Donald Trump two times, and I will be voting for Donald Trump a third time in November.
Today is a dark day for America.

“The real verdict is going to be November 5th by the people. And they know what happened here, and everybody knows what happened here. You have a Soros-backed DA, and the whole thing, we didn’t do a thing wrong. I’m a very innocent man, and it’s okay, I’m fighting for our country. I’m fighting for our Constitution. Our whole country is being rigged right now,” Trump said.
Trump blamed the Biden administration for this verdict and called the trial ‘rigged’. All of his supporters have flooded the internet with supporting messages and criticism of the Judgement.
People have started donating to the donation page to show their support for Trump. Tim Pool and Andrew Tate have come on the internet showing their support and donating to the campaign with Tate donating $200,000.
Tucker Carlson said, “Import the Third World, become the Third World. That’s what we just saw. This won’t stop Trump. He’ll win the election if he’s not killed first.”
Megyn Kelly said, “Guilty on all counts. The country is disgraced. Alvin Bragg should be disbarred. They will rue the day they unleashed this lawfare to corrupt a presidential election.”
