Kiara Advani, known for her role in the film Satyaprem Ki Katha alongside Kartik Aaryan, has joined the cast of Don 3, directed by Farhan Akhtar.
In the upcoming movie, Ranveer Singh will be portraying the iconic character of Don, originally played by Shah Rukh Khan. Kiara has shared insights into her decision to take on an action-packed role in the film and has also reflected on her journey and experiences in the entertainment industry.
Don: The action series
The action series drew inspiration from the 1978 film of the same title starring megastars Amitabh Bachchan and Zeenat Aman. Shah Rukh Khan headlined the reboot in Farhan Akhtar’s 2006 film “Don” and its 2011 sequel “Don 2,” with Priyanka Chopra Jonas portraying the character Roma.
Kiara said this at ABP conclave, “I think it’s a conscious decision, I wanted to do something different. I wanted to change it up for myself, and this was one genre that I was longing to get myself into. And that’s what’s exciting, right? As an actor, you are constantly stepping into different characters and making the world believe that that’s who you are. There will be a tough prep for the film, but I’ve got time to do that. I’m very excited, I’ve never done an action movie so. Now it’s my time to get some action in”.

The producers of Don 3 announced the addition of Kiara Advani to the cast via an Instagram video on Tuesday. Farhan Akhtar welcomed her to the Don universe with the caption, “Welcome to the Don universe @kiaraaliaadvani #Don3.” However, the casting choice has stirred mixed reactions among netizens, with some suggesting that Priyanka Chopra would have been a more suitable option for the role.
Previously, the selection of Ranveer for the lead role generated significant excitement, reminiscent of SRK’s initial portrayal of the iconic character, which was first brought to life by Amitabh Bachchan in the 1978 film Don, directed by Chandra Barot. SRK has reprised the role of Don in the franchise’s first two installments, released five years apart.
