Bajaj Auto plans to debut a motorbike powered by compressed natural gas in June 2024. According to Rajiv Bajaj, MD of Bajaj Auto, the fuel transformation would appeal to environmentally aware customers while also improving fuel economy.

Bajaj emphasised that the Centre has significantly increased the CNG network across India, and that the new bike would be positioned to appeal to mileage-conscious customers and will be released under a separate brand.

CNG-powered vehicles

With 60,000 to 70,000 CNG-powered three-wheelers sold each month, Bajaj told news agency PTI that the three-wheeler business has mostly shifted to CNG in the last five years.

These CNG bikes are projected to be more expensive than standard petrol versions due to additional production expenses associated with CNG technology and the unique tank that accommodates both petrol and CNG fuel alternatives.
Aside from that, Bajaj stated that Pulsar, one of its bestsellers released 20 years ago, will shortly reach 2 million units.

He also talked about the company’s move from scooters to bikes from domestic to overseas markets. He added the capacity to make a move at the proper moment is the genuine trademark of a corporation.

Bajaj emphasizing on group’s dedication

Bajaj emphasised the Group’s dedication to fostering an inclusive and prosperous future for all Indians. He emphasised the need of actual skills training in the industrial industry, drawing on information gained from programmes like as the Bajaj Engineering Skills Training (BEST) project, which launched the previous year.

“Launching the Bajaj Engineering Skills Training (BEST) last year was an invaluable learning opportunity for us. It provided a vivid picture of the significant gap between theoretical education and the actual abilities required in the industrial business. The insights gathered from BEST served as a cornerstone in constructing the foundation. “With Bajaj Beyond, we will broaden our skilling efforts throughout the group,” Rajiv Bajaj stated.

Humanitarian operation

Aside from that, he stated that the Bajaj Group has committed Rs 5,000 crore to social impact projects over the next five years, with an emphasis on skill development, through ‘Bajaj Beyond,’ the Group’s new name for all of its CSR and humanitarian activities.

This will help nearly 2 crore of tomorrow’s young, allowing them to take advantage of the job and entrepreneurial possibilities available in India’s rising economy.

The Bajaj Group’s humanitarian operations are coordinated through a number of entities. The Jamnalal Bajaj Foundation, Jankidevi Bajaj Gramme Vikas Sanstha, and the Kamalnayan Bajaj Hospital, among others, have worked tirelessly to improve and empower communities, according to Bajaj Auto Chairman Niraj Bajaj.

In Q3 FY24, Bajaj Auto reported a 37% year-on-year (YoY) increase in net profit to Rs 2,042 crore, up from Rs 1,491 crore in the same quarter previous year. This was mostly owing to robust domestic demand for its bikes and three wheelers.
