Jacket Swap Sparks Social Media Frenzy
Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, recently shared a photo alongside Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang.
In the photo, Mark Zuckerberg and Jensen Huang exchanged jackets, with Huang wearing a brown jacket and Zuckerberg sporting Huang’s iconic black one.
Zuckerberg captioned the photo simply as “Jersey swap,” which quickly gained over a hundred thousand likes in less than a day. Melinda Davenport, an executive at Meta, commented on the post, calling it “absolutely epic” and referring to both men as “legends.”
Another Instagram user inquired if Zuckerberg was considering purchasing Nvidia’s H100 graphics processing unit (GPU) chip, to which Zuckerberg replied that he was eyeing the B100 chips instead.
Responding to a comment from someone unfamiliar with Jensen Huang, Zuckerberg likened him to “Taylor Swift, but for tech”, highlighting Huang’s significant following among tech, AI, and gaming enthusiasts.
This comment garnered over 1,300 likes.
Jensen Huang: The Tech Icon Behind Nvidia’s Global Rise
According to Quartz, Jensen Huang has been consistently seen wearing a black jacket in nearly all of his public appearances since 2013.
During a 2016 ask-me-anything (AMA) session on Reddit, Jensen Huang humorously introduced himself with the phrase: “I am Jen-Hsun Huang, CEO of NVIDIA. You might be more familiar with me as ‘the individual in the leather jacket who tends to repeat things three times.’ Ha ha ha.”
Huang’s public image has surged notably in recent years, largely due to the advancement of AI-driven technology. His company, Nvidia, is renowned for inventing the graphics processing unit (GPU) utilized in gaming systems. Today, GPUs have evolved into indispensable components for AI-based deep-learning applications, significantly enhancing Nvidia’s clientele and global reputation.
According to Forbes estimates, Huang ranks as the 17th wealthiest individual in the United States and the 76th wealthiest globally.
Tech Titans’ Style: Simplifying Success
Like many tech titans, Jensen Huang is recognized for adhering to a consistent wardrobe, often referred to as a ‘uniform.’ Mark Zuckerberg famously wore grey T-shirts, although he’s been seen diversifying his attire with designer clothes lately.
Similarly, Steve Jobs was synonymous with his black turtlenecks. This adherence to a specific style of clothing is a common practice among billionaires, sparing them the unnecessary stress of selecting outfits daily. Huang follows suit in this regard.
According to a spokesperson for Huang quoted by the New York Times in January 2023, he opts for a consistent attire of black pants and shirts because it simplifies his daily decision-making process. The spokesperson, however, indicated that they do not have information regarding Huang’s preferred brands of jackets or clothing.
