AAP Accuses Tihar Jail of Plotting Chief Minister’s Demise
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has vehemently accused Tihar Jail of orchestrating a diabolical plot aimed at the outright assassination of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. They assert that Tihar Jail, under the insidious influence of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), is deliberately withholding vital insulin from Kejriwal, thereby sentencing him to a slow and agonizing demise behind bars.
In a brazen display of injustice, the AAP alleges that despite assurances from the Director General (Prisons) regarding the availability of insulin, Kejriwal is being callously denied access to his life-saving medication. Saurabh Bharadwaj, a senior AAP leader and Delhi Minister, has castigated this egregious act, proclaiming it as nothing short of a sinister conspiracy concocted within the confines of the jail.
The stark contrast between the treatment of a common prisoner and the elected Chief Minister of Delhi serves as a chilling reminder of the depths to which the political establishment will sink to silence dissent. The denial of essential medication to Kejriwal within the very institution tasked with upholding justice epitomizes a flagrant abuse of power, highlighting the lengths to which his adversaries will go to suppress his voice and subvert democracy.
Conflicting Narratives in Kejriwal’s Medical Care
He’s claiming that despite repeatedly asking the jail authorities, including the Director General (DG) and Deputy Inspector General (DIG), for insulin as his sugar levels rise, they flat-out refuse to provide it. The situation has reached such a dire point that the doctor and jail officials are allegedly unwilling to administer insulin to him.
This has led to the elected Chief Minister having to resort to filing a petition in court just to receive the necessary medication. However, in their report to Saxena, the jail administration stated that the Chief Minister had been under the care of a private doctor from Telangana for his diabetes.
They claimed that he had stopped taking insulin a few months ago and was only on a basic anti-diabetes oral medication called Metformin at the time of his arrest. According to the report, during his medical examinations in jail, Kejriwal informed the doctors that he had been using insulin for several years but had stopped a few months ago based on his doctor’s advice.
Medical Reports Contradict Insulin Denial Allegations
Furthermore, the report mentions that according to the Medical Legal Case (MLC) report from RML Hospital, there was no recommendation for insulin for Kejriwal, nor was there any indication of his need for it. Instead, on two separate occasions, April 10, 2024, and April 15, 2024, Kejriwal was evaluated by a specialist in internal medicine who prescribed oral anti-diabetic drugs/medications.
The report emphasizes that it is inaccurate to claim that Kejriwal was ever denied insulin during his treatment. As per the report, the medicine specialist who examined the Chief Minister noted that after considering all relevant parameters, there was no immediate need for administering insulin.
